This page describes the mounting and cable installation for the single-phase SOLARWATT Inverter vision one inverter.
Table of contents

    Installing the inverter

Observe all Safety Instructions and requirements for the installer.

Observe the Specifications for the installation location and the maximum and minimum installation distances for the inverter, meter and battery.

Check whether the condition of the wall and the enclosed mounting material are suitable for supporting the product weight of the inverter (22 kg).

Do not place the inverter on the connections or on the front panel
    • Mark and drill the drill holes using the wall bracket
    • Mount the wall bracket
    Mounting the wall bracket
    • Carefully hang the inverter on the wall bracket using the groove provided
    • Fix the inverter to the wall bracket

    Connect DC cable PV

Observe the Information on cable requirements and minimum bending radii for inverter, meter and battery.

Observe the Explanations on the Crimping PV plug connectors.

The scope of delivery of the inverter includes Stäubli MC4 Evo 2A PV connectors, which are compatible with the Stäubli PV connection sockets on the inverter. Stäubli PV plugs are compatible with other types of Stäubli MC4 plugs.

    • Strip the PV DC cable to a length of 6.0 - 7.5 mm
Make sure that no individual wires are damaged!
    • Crimp the DC cable with the PV plug connectors
Ensure correct polarity when assigning the PV pin contacts!

    Strip PV cable
    • Connect DC cable PV to PV+ and PV-
      A 'click' must be audible.
    • check for correct engagement by pulling on the plug connectors
      (control force max. 20 N)

    ATTENTION

Cable couplings that are not fully engaged (see illustration below) can lead to permanent deformation of the locking hooks and thus to loss of the locking function. You should therefore always check that they have been fitted correctly.

Plug connectors together right / wrong

    Note

How to remove the Stäubli Evo 2A plug from the inverter if necessary?
To remove the plug, use the Stäubli tool PV-MS-PLS/2 or PV-MS (not included in the scope of delivery). Alternatively, a screwdriver can be used to open the side locking lugs on the PV plug.

    DC cable Connect battery

The Battery DC cable is included in the scope of delivery of the Battery vision top pack.

    • Connect the plug to BAT+ and BAT-
      You should hear a 'click'.

    ATTENTION

Always use the battery DC cables included in the scope of delivery for connection to the inverter. Only then is the warranty on the Battery vision/Inverter vision system guaranteed.

    Install antenna (for Bluetooth connector)

The antenna is included in the scope of delivery of the Inverter vision one.

    • Remove the protective rubber sleeve from the antenna connection
    • Screw on the antenna
    Screw on the antenna

    Connecting the BMS cable

The BMS cable is a standard network cable (included in the scope of delivery of the Battery vision top pack).

    • Connect the communication cable to the BMS output
    • Tighten the mechanical strain relief (also outdoor seal)

    Connect LAN

Inverter vision one is connected directly to the router via a LAN connection. The LAN cable is not included in the scope of delivery.

    • attach a waterproof plug housing (included in the scope of delivery) to the inverter side of the plug for protection and mechanical strain relief
    • Connect the inverter to the router

In exceptional cases, a WiFi connection can be established for a wireless connector to a WiFi in the vicinity of the inverter.

    • Ensure that the antenna is screwed to the inverter
    • Use the SOLARWATT Pro app to make the WiFi settings

Further explanations on Integrating the inverter into the local network via WiFi.

    ATTENTION

Use the enclosed waterproof plug housing for the LAN plug on the inverter. Otherwise the device may be damaged by moisture.

    Connect AC-BACKUP

Inverter vision one is designed for operation in the single-phase mains, voltage range 220/230/240 V, frequency 50/60Hz.
Other technical requirements must comply with the requirements of the local public grid.

Please note the Cable requirements and bending radii for inverter, meter and battery.

The AC-BACKUP plug (red ring) is included in the scope of delivery of the Inverter one.

    • Remove the transport protective covers from the AC-BACKUP connection on the inverter

    ATTENTION

A flat screwdriver is required to loosen the transport protective cover of the AC backup connection. Insert the screwdriver into the nose of the protective covers and then turn to the left (see illustration).
If used incorrectly, there is a risk of the latches on the inverter plug breaking off. If the latches have broken off, the device must be returned to Solarwatt, as the BACKUP cable can no longer be securely locked.

Loosening the protective covers of the AC-BACKUP connection for transportation
    • Strip 40 mm of the AC cable
    • Shorten the N conductor and L conductor by 9 mm so that the PE conductor can always establish a connector right to the end
    • Strip 9 mm of PE, N and L insulation
    • Crimp on wire end ferrules

    ATTENTION

For safety reasons, the PE conductor must be longer than the N and L conductors to ensure a constant PE connection until the cable is disconnected.

    Strip, strip, use ferrules
    • Feed the AC-BACKUP cable through the AC-BACKUP plug
    • Connect the cable cores to PE, N and L as marked on the plug
    • Screw the plug together
    • you will hear a 'click' sound if the assembly is successful
    Configuring the AC-BACKUP plug
    • Connect the AC cable to the AC-BACKUP connection of the inverter
    • Turn the plug ring to the right until it audibly clicks into place and is locked

    Note

How do I remove the AC-BACKUP cable from the inverter if necessary?

Insert a narrow screwdriver into the nose of the plug ring, carefully turn the plug ring to the UNLOCK position and pull out the plug.

    Connect AC-GRID

Inverter vision one is designed for operation in the single-phase mains, voltage range 220/230/240 V, frequency 50/60Hz.
Other technical requirements must comply with the requirements of the local public grid.

Please note the Cable requirements and bending radii for inverter, meter and battery.

The AC-GRID plug (white ring) is included in the scope of delivery of the Inverter one.

    • Remove the transport protective covers from the AC-GRID connection on the inverter
    • Strip 55 mm of the AC cable
    • Shorten the N conductor and L conductor by 9 mm so that the PE conductor can always establish a connector right to the end
    • Strip 9 mm of PE, N and L insulation
    • Crimp on wire end ferrules

    ATTENTION

For safety reasons, the PE conductor must be longer than the N and L conductors to ensure a constant PE connection until the cable is disconnected.

    Strip, strip, use ferrules
    • Feed the AC cable through the AC-GRID plug
    • Connect the cable cores to PE, N and L as marked on the plug (torque 3.0 ± 0.2 Nm)
    • Allow the plug to 'click' into place and screw tight
    Assembling and closing AC-GRID plugs

    Note

How do I open the AC-GRID plug again if necessary?

Use the tool supplied with the AC plug (blue plastic bracket) and insert it between the locking tabs on the plug (see following illustration).

Fit the opening tool and push the plug out towards the front
    • Connect the AC cable to the AC-GRID connection of the inverter

    Note

How do I remove the AC-GRID cable from the inverter if necessary?

Insert a narrow screwdriver into the nose of the plug ring and pull out the plug.

    Connecting the grounding

The earthing cable is not included in the scope of delivery. The cable lug for the earthing cable is included in the scope of delivery of the Inverter one.
